At CST, consumers are often homeless or in unstable housing for extended periods of time while they wait for asylum cases to process. In this waiting period and with the help of extraordinary community partners, CST can provide our consumers with clothes, household goods and food for them to take with them.
This month, we want to spotlight Everybody Ate Today (E.A.T) Outreach in Austin, who has been providing CST consumers with wholesome bread and baked goods for over seven years. Each week, our office is filled with nutritious food and the happy faces of consumers who have access to the healthy items that E.A.T. Outreach provides. Having access to hearty food is essential for our consumers and their well-being, especially since many refugees and asylum seekers have to rely on charity for food and shelter. Our consumers are grateful for their generous donations each week and so is CST.
